Pastor’s Welcome

“My house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples”
Isaiah 56:7

It is my pleasure to welcome you and to thank you for your interest in St. Pius V Catholic Church in Buena Park, California.

We are a vibrant, growing, diverse Catholic community that celebrates our deep faith in Jesus Christ through liturgy, education, and a wide range of ministries and organizations. We strive to live our faith by being good stewards of our time, talent and treasure. As Paul writes to the Corinthians, “This is how one should regard us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God” 1 Corinthians 4:1

St. Pius V Catholic School has been serving our parish and the surrounding area for more than 60 years. It provides both a high quality education as well as a strong foundation in our Catholic faith and social teaching.

While we have nearly 6,000 registered families within the parish, we share our faith in numerous small groups which focus on prayer, good works, catechesis, bible study, and the building of strong relationships among our members. We strive to be good disciples so that we can “make disciples of all nations.” Matthew 28:19

We are a parish within the Diocese of Orange which currently has approximately 1.3 Million Catholics and is among the ten largest dioceses in the United States. At the center of the diocese is the Pastoral Center located on the beautiful Christ Cathedral Campus in Garden Grove, California.

Whether you are interested in joining us for a single liturgy, becoming a member of our parish, or enrolling your child in our school, I look forward to welcoming you in person when you have the opportunity to visit us.

May God richly bless you!
